The Highlands Wilderness Training Institute

The Highlands Wilderness Training Institute was founded to provide those who play and work in the great outdoors a cost effective way to gain valuable training in wilderness first aid and wilderness survival skills.

Every year thousands of families and individuals head out of the big city for the weekend commute, to the cottage and into the wilderness to enjoy such activities as camping, fishing, hunting, hiking and much much more.

Unfortunately along with these fun recreational activities comes the increased risk of injury or the chance of becoming lost or stranded in the woods. With this in mind HWTI was founded by a group of professionals who are used to seeing what happens when people who are unprepared to deal with emergencies find themselves experiencing one first hand in the back country.
